A woman who sustained multiple fractures in a crash with a driver under the influence of alcohol was awarded $1.82 million by a jury. Lisa Barnes, at 39, was struck by Charles Owen, who pleaded guilty to charges related to the accident. Barnes sustained a fractured pelvis, a fractured humerus and fractured fingers. She required multiple surgeries including the implantation of plates and screws. She remained in the hospital for about 2.5 weeks. As a result of her injuries, Barnes is in constant pain.
